【摘要】:Whenproperlyused,theseproceduresmayservetoisolatesuchfactorsasmaterial,blow-moldingconditions,post-treatment,andsoforth,onthestress-crackresistanceofthecontainer.Environmentalstresscrackingofblow-moldedcontainersisgovernedbymanyfactors.Sincevarianceofanyofthesefactorscanchangetheenvironmentalstress-crackresistanceofthecontainer,thetestresultsarerepresentativeonlyofagiventestperformedunderdefinedconditionsinthelaboratory.Thereproducibilityofresultsbetweenlaboratoriesoncontainersmadeonmorethanonemachinefrommorethanonemoldhasnotbeenestablished.Resultscanbeusedforestimatingtheshelflifeofblow-moldedcontainersintermsoftheirresistancetoenvironmentalstresscrackingprovidedthisisdoneagainstarigorousbackgroundofpracticalfieldexperienceandreproducibletestdata.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,referenceshouldbemadetothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,oracombinationthereof,coveredinthematerialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthistestmethod.Iftherearenomaterialspecifications,thenthedefaultconditionsapply.1.1Undercertainconditionsofstress,andinthepresenceofenvironmentssuchassoaps,wettingagents,oils,ordetergents,blow-moldedpolyethylenecontainersmayexhibitmechanicalfailurebycrackingatstressesappreciablybelowthosethatwouldcausecrackingintheabsenceoftheseenvironments.1.2Thistestmethodmeasurestheenvironmentalstress-crackresistanceofcontainers,whichisthesummationoftheinfluenceofcontainerdesign,resin,blow-moldingconditions,posttreatment,orotherfactorsthatcanaffectthisproperty.Threeproceduresareprovidedasfollows:1.2.1ProcedureA,Stress-CrackResistanceofContainerstoCommercialLiquids8212;Thisprocedureisparticularlyusefulfordeterminingtheeffectofcontainerdesignonstress-crackresistanceorthestress-crackresistanceofaproposedcommercialpackagecontainingaproprietaryliquidproduct.1.2.2ProcedureB,Stress-CrackResistanceofaSpecificContainertoPolyoxyethylatedNonylphenol,aStress-CrackingAgent8212;TheconditionsoftestdescribedinthisprocedurearedesignedfortestingcontainersmadefromTypeIIIpolyethyleneSpecificationD1248.Therefore,thisprocedureisrecommendedforcontainersmadefromTypeIIIpolyethyleneonly.Thisprocedureisparticularlyusefulfordeterminingtheeffectofresinonthestress-crackresistanceofthecontainer.1.2.3ProcedureC,ControlledElevatedPressureStress-CrackResistanceofaSpecificContainertoPolyoxyethylatedNonylphenol,aStress-CrackingAgent8212;Theinternalpressureiscontrolledataconstantelevatedlevel.1.3Theseproceduresarenotdesignedtotestthepropensityforenvironmentalstresscrackingintheneckofcontainers,suchaswhentheneckissubjectedtoacontrolledstrainbyinsertingaplug.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Note18212;ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection8andNotes1and9.
