【摘要】:Thedatafromthisguideseldom,ifever,directlysimulatethermalandpressureeventsintheprocessing,storage,andshippingofchemicals.However,thedataobtainedfromthisguidemaybeused,withsuitableprecautions,topredictthethermalandpressurehazardsassociatedwithprocessing,storage,andshippingofachemicalormixtureofchemicalsafterappropriatescalingofthedata.Thishasbeenaddressedintheliterature(1-9)butisbeyondthescopeofthisguide.Thisguideissuitable,undertheproperconditions,fortheinvestigationoftheeffectsofcatalyst,inhibitors,initiators,reactionatmospheres,materialsofconstruction,or,ifavailable,agitation(see6.1.2).Interpretationofthetime-temperatureortime-pressuredatamaybepossibleforrelativelysimplesystemsthroughtheuseofsuitabletemperature-dependentkinetictheoriessuchastheArrheniusandAbsoluteReactionRatetheories(10-11).1.1Thisguidecoverssuggestedproceduresfortheoperationofacalorimetricdevicedesignedtoobtaintemperatureandpressuredataasafunctionoftimeforsystemsundergoingaphysicochemicalchangeundernearlyadiabaticconditions.1.2Thisguideoutlinesthecalculationofthermodynamicparametersfromthetime,temperature,andpressuredatarecordedbyacalorimetricdevice.1.3Theassessmentoutlinedinthisguidemaybeusedoverapressurerangefromfullvacuumtotheratedpressureofthereactioncontainerandpressuretransducer.Thetemperaturerangeofthecalorimetertypicallyvariesfromambientto500176C,butalsomaybeuserspecified(see6.6).1.4Thisstatementdoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificsafetyprecautionsareoutlinedinSection7.
